Is there a demo version of ACIS I can try?

  • The short answer is Yes. However, we would like to walk you through the product before you and your staff try it out. The guided demo takes about 1 to 1.5 hours. To arrange a demo, Contact us.

Where can I find help with my ACIS application ?

  • There are three levels of ACIS® support: Level 1 > Questions about how your organization uses ACIS® or to access the ACIS® application should be directed to your designated local ACIS® administrator, Level 2 > If there is an issue with a component of the ACIS® application you can contact your local ACIS® administrator and he will file a help desk ticket (recommended) or you can file a help desk ticket yourself (see menu to the left), Level 3 > If the server appears to be down you should notify your local administrator and/or contact us directly.
  • If you need to access ACIS® manuals you can log in and view them from this site (your organization must be registered to use ACIS®). If you are an ACIS® user they are also available on your ACIS® web site.

What does ACIS Cost ?

  • Originally, ACIS was sold for 350K (USD) per license, 1K per seat, and 63K per year maintenance fee using a fairly standard commercial software sales approach. When ASA acquired ACIS it redeployed the software using a SaaS model (Software as a Service). In the SaaS model ASA hosts the application. This makes deployment and maintenance of ACIS easier. From a pricing perspective, there isn't an up-front software fee (you don't have to pay out 350K to get the software) and there isn't a per seat charge. All you pay is an initial setup fee and maintenance fee and that can be paid annually or monthly. For specifics on pricing, please contact us.

What kind of internal and external data can be put in ACIS ?

  • ACIS allows you to combine and integrate your internal information and external information in a secure environment under your control.
  • ACIS is a collaborative system. Anyone with access to the system can add or modify information. Changes are traceable and visible to anyone wanting to see a history of the changes.
  • Internal Data: Electronic documents, maps, and graphics (Word, Excel, Power Point, Acrobat pdf, CAD, and any other formats - note that you will need the appropriate viewers to open the documents on the computer you use to access ACIS). ACIS will also maintain document links (can integrate with ASA's virtual data rooms). Links to internal web pages. Database information can be configured and added to ACIS on a one-time or repeating basis (additional cost may be incurred). Soft information including discussions, heard-on-the street, extrapolations, and interpretations.
  • External Data: RSS News feeds, web page links, external documents (see note above about viewing documents above), blog links, and both commercial and non-commercial data sources (contact us regarding external data sources).
  • Searches: All internal and external information/data in ACIS is categorized (people, places, companies, projects) and is made searchable.

Is ACIS safe ?

  • All applications, including ACIS, whether inside your firewall, outside your firewall, or on your PC are at risk from attack. We try to minimize that risk by using multiple user authentications, private cloud servers (optional hardware servers if you wish), application placement in US based SAS 70 II audited facilities. We also use standard system monitoring, firewalls, and virus protection to keep risk to a minimum.
  • To prevent conflicts of interest, ASA is not a data provider. ASA's primary mission is to work with companies to find ways to integrate their internal and external information.

Will ACIS work in our organization ?

  • It is important to set the right expectations for any software product which is expected to see heavy use. Organizations which have the best chance of using ACIS to it's greatest benefit are those with a collaborative culture. ACIS can still be used effectively in internally competitive cultures but the expectations for leveraging ACIS as knowledge base are diminished. Contact us if you would like help in assessing and constructing success strategies for your collaborative environment.
